National Dance Institute's 2018 Event of the Year At the River's Edge, directed by Kelly Buwalda, will bring together over 200 talented dancers from New York City public schools in a vibrant performance inspired by the power of rivers.

Featuring original choreography and live music, NDI's Event of the Year will celebrate the cultures, creatures, and cities that thrive "at the river's edge." The dancers will samba in the Amazon, strut along the Hudson, pay homage to the Ganges, and set sail on the Mississippi. As we bask in the river's beauty, we will reflect on its power to connect us more deeply to each other and the planet, and remind us of the need to protect this vital water source for future generations.
